Safeguarding

Safeguarding Statement

The Orchard Learning Alliance is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people within its family of schools. We provide an inclusive and caring environment in which our children and young people can develop their academic, social, and emotional potential. Every adult is expected to play their part in safeguarding.

Each school within the Orchard Learning Alliance has its own Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and follow the procedures as set out in the policies if there are concerns regarding a child or young person.   All staff within the Trust complete relevant training to keep up to date with their knowledge, understanding and further developing a culture of safeguarding in our schools.

The Trust supports each school in the following way:
  • Keeping schools up to date with any annual key changes in Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)
  • Undertaking annual reviews to scrutinise safeguarding policy and procedures
  • Providing joint training opportunities
  • Local Governing Body and DSL networks
  • Providing centralised advice and guidance
Recruitment

All vetting procedures are in place and recorded on the school’s single central record before adults are allowed to commence work with children and young people in our schools.
